The perinatologist visit last Tuesday went really well. The babies are doing well, which is always a huge relief and blessing. The babies on my left side and middle both are 1 lb. 6 oz. The baby on my right side is a little bit smaller, weighing 1 lb. She also said that they are all about 6 inches. The perinatologist told us that they would keep an eye on the smaller baby to make sure that she continues to grow. So far, she and her sisters all have plenty of amniotic fluid around them to continue receiving nutrients and have room for growth. The doctor told us that with triplets, if their weight is within 32% of each other, that is still good. So we are grateful for this miracle and that everything appears to be moving along well.
It was cute, because when the doctor did the ultrasound, all of the girls were breech, with their heads up top, their bums under my belly, and their feet below that. Tic-tac-toe, three in a row! If you divide my belly into three sections vertically, they each have an area that they kind of stay in (left, middle, right). They move all around in their little area still, but they kind of keep to their general section. It’s pretty crazy when they all start moving around, especially at night. I can feel them well now, and sometimes it’s quite the party!
I went to the orthopedic surgeon for my foot the following day and found out good news… it’s not broken! Yeah! It seems to have been badly bruised, and if it does have a small fracture, it should heal on it’s own. So, no cast or surgery! I’m so grateful for that! Everything should be healed up within the next few weeks.
I had a great baby shower with dear friends where we used to live. Thank you so much to each of you who participated and for being so wonderful, thoughtful, and generous, and for helping us get ready for these babies! I loved seeing you and giving you hugs.
Thanks again to each of you who are praying for us at this time. I feel your prayers and know that God is hearing them and answering them. We are blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. And we love you!
Congrats on the job!
ReplyDeleteFun to see you blogging. I like your little baby ticker on the sidebar.
Glad the babies are doing well too, of course.
What wonderful news--on both the job front and your foot! Glad to hear the babies are doing well! It's hard enough coming up with one name--I couldn't imagine coming up with three names!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your foot and the babies are doing well!

ReplyDeleteI had no idea!!! This has made my whole weekend!!! It was fun and so interesting to read your story up to this point. We are so happy for you. This is truly a miracle and could not be happening to a more deserving family. My neighbor adopted triplets two years ago, and they are the cutest little family! The ward signed up to help her feed them every day, which no one complained about!!! You're going to need to accept a lot of help! I can't wait to see you at the shower. Congrats!!!
