24 and 25 Weeks Along and Counting!

We reached a huge milestone of 24 weeks, and we’re very grateful! The doctor told us that babies can survive after 24 weeks; they often have problems, but they can survive. Our next goal is 28 weeks. Once we get there, most of the issues that preemies have can be cleared up in the hospital. So, we’re grateful to be moving along! And then, we're really hopeful to reach 34 plus weeks. Making it to 35 or 36 weeks would be great!

At 24 weeks, I hit a little slump. I felt a lot of pressure in my uterus, and it became harder for me to walk. The doctor told me to keep my feet up as much as possible, and that helped a lot. I also had several tests, and the results were very positive. My cervix is closed, it doesn’t look like I’ll be going into labor in the next 2 weeks, and we’re all really grateful for that. They took a urine sample and I found out this week that I have a urinary tract/bladder infection, hence the pressure and some other symptoms that go along with that. I’ve been taking antibiotics this week, and we’re hopeful that it should clear up. I’m tired and slowing down. But the babies are doing great!

We went to the perinatologist this week for my 25 week visit, and the babies were all moving around having a great time. Their hearts all look great. They had all their feet down by my bladder. It was cute to see 6 feet and 3 little bums down there! They seem to be the best of friends already. They still have space to move all around, and the doctor told us that they probably would be able to move wherever they want for a few more weeks. After that, space will be tighter.

The perinatologists aren’t as concerned with them getting twin-to-twin chorion transfusion disease. They all have enough fluid around them and are growing well.

Ellis came with us to the visit with the perinatologist, and he loved seeing his sisters and figuring out which body parts were which. They were confusing all of us, including the doctor, with who was who, because they kept moving all around!

We’re so happy and grateful to be moving forward, as slow as I am, and we appreciate all of your love, support, and prayers! We feel them daily, and we love you!

  1. Also your triplet trivia is rad. I never knew any of that stuff. It's so good to see 7 read how you & the girls are doing. Keep us updated.

  5. Ann-Marie,

I got your baby shower invitation and I'm so excited for you. Congrats!!! I can't believe it. I know you must be shocked more than anymore. I can't even begin to imagine.

I wish I could have been at your shower but not so much. We're in Texas but make occasional trips out to Utah. I'd love to see you the next time we're out. When exactly are you due? What weight/size are they expecting them to be? I found a "few" little things that I want to send your way.
