Day 5 in Hospital (Tuesday)

First another thank you to all of you for your love and support, we are SO appreciative. Thank you for the nice comments you make, I read them to Ann-Marie and they cheer us up. These comments and your prayers are wonderful. Please don't feel any pressure or obligation to call or visit. With Ann-Marie on complete bed rest (not even allowed out of bed to go to the bathroom-the nurses have their ways to still accomodate for this while she's on the bed) we both keep busy just trying to get Ann-Marie comfortable, fed, etc. and we're really not able to take many phone calls or visits.

Until noon Ann-Marie was on 3 grams per hour of "mag" which is A LOT. At noon the doctor reduced it to 2, and after dinner reduced it to 1.5. At 3 grams per hour she was very hot and her muscles were so relaxed throughout her body that she could hardly move or talk. By tonight at 1.5 grams per hour she was doing better. (The "mag" makes Ann-Marie so hot that we keep the room very cold and I have to keep a blanket around me.)

Contractions are still irregular, although they are more frequent now. They came about every 4 to 6 minutes. However, they have not been really painful. When they are painful, then the doctors will check her cervix again, and if it's reached a five the doctors will likely begin the C-section. As for now they see no need to check the cervix. When Ann-Marie is sleeping the contractions space out a little more, about once every 8 to 10 minutes.

We've really had some spiritual experiences through all this. The biggest thing made clear to us is these babies will come in the Lord's timing. We've done our best and now we turn to Him for guidance and help.

  1. It's just me, Angela Davidson. Erica is keeping me in the loop and we are praying for you like crazy. I kind of figured that Ann-Marie would be in the hospital until the babies arrived, but I was hoping otherwise.

We'd love to send Ann-Marie a little care package. How about some DVD's to watch? Do you have a TV series you like?

I am sure it is just awful to be trapped in the hospital. Hang in there and know that we love you!

  4. These girls sure are lucky to come to such wonderful parents. I have another friend that's preggo with twins. It's sure tricky getting them to stay as long as you'd like. You're absolutely right about the Lord's timing. All will be well. Keep on keeping on and we'll keep praying for ya'll.

...by the way, this is Trisha Nelson from Hinckley Hall

  7. I have been reading every day and I haven't commented every time, but I tried to put myself in your place, and I thought I would probably enjoy lots of comments! So many people are thinking about and praying for you. My family has asked several times this week how everything is going. My heart goes out to you, sweet Ann-Marie. You are definitely earning your stripes this week. You are one amazing, tough, and courageous woman. I am truly inspired by you. What lucky girls to be coming into such an incredible family. We are hoping and praying for the best outcome continuously!

  8. I had a coworker tell me when I was near the end of my pregnancy with M&M that I would "sleep better being pregnant than I would after they arrived" and I thought, "Lady - you've never been pregnant with twins to have ANY idea how much I CAN'T sleep because I can't get comfortable!!" And I definitely proved her wrong. Even though it's only for a few hours at a time at first, you will definitely get MORE and BETTER rest after they come. So don't think the worst is ahead --- this IS the worst! Just hold on, girlie, it WILL get better!! You're doing awesome!!

  10. Thanks for the update Anthony. What a test of endurance. I hope the nurses are being nice and that they are giving you anything and everything you want! Oh Ann-Marie. I didn't realize you couldn't even get up to go to the bathroom! What a woman you are!
You both amaze me. We love you.
